Children of the Stars

By Christopher Rupley

Borne of nothing,
becoming the dust
that ignites,
swirling particles
subdued by gravity,
made to be
our constituents

Of the lights
that followed,
their brilliance spilt,
their death-cries
heard throughout
the galaxies,
becoming fodder for
the swirling clouds forming,
coalescing consciousness

Part of a timeless
extravagant dance,
one that rarely
offers insight to
the minds inside,
but still we shine…
