Serendipitous Love

My heart sat,

hammered down and heavy

with the dry-rot of apathy,

unbecoming,

unworthy of all

who paraded before my

glistening cheerlessness

Yet you found me while

I was looking for you,

with my ear pressed against

the discerning bosom of the Earth,

as I restlessly listened for

your heartbeat among

the billions…
